The photo-journalist and I are planning on attending the Minnesota Renaissance Festival again this year, and this year I wanted to dress up. These are the starting sketches for a shirt I'm going to make - but I also wanted to make it something that I could wear around town without getting too many odd looks.

I'm still debating on making the clasps frog clasps you seen on Chinese shirts, or making them straps with buckles. The gauntlets are actually going to be sown onto the shirt.

I've added the hood partly because I'd like to see how it turns out, but also because I dislike the sun. You don't get to be the lovely shade of alabaster as I am because you enjoy sitting outside with the sun beating down on you all day. ;P

The fabric may end up being a different color.

Totally cool! I'm trying to make a ren-fair costume, too, for this summer, and my initial design looked kinda like that. Even though yours totally kicks my bottom! Good luck, I hope you have fun!
